Balance of Justice

As the pursuit of true justice depends on balance and universality of law, every jurisdiction which creates or otherwise authorizes a prosecutorial body must also do the same for a defensive body. No prosecutorial authority, power, and/or resource shall be granted unless an equal authority, power, and/or resource is granted to the defense.

In current society, the prosecution of those suspected as guilty is given far more power & access to resources than the defense of those assumed to be innocent. The prevailing and assumptive position must be one of innocence. While it is, inarguably, in the best interest of society to convict and punish the guilty, this quest must never supersede the responsibility of society to protect those who are innocent.
